The Insanity Begins

All the words I was supposed to know
Stack of flashcards to help memorize terms.. Most cards have 2 words on them!
Wow. This last week has been absolutely nuts! I knew 17 credits was a lot, but I think i definitely underestimated. This last week (and i get to do it again this week.. yay..) I have been teaching lessons Monday - Thursday in addition to my classes. I also lifeguarded on Saturday. My classes have definitely been keeping me busy, and things are beginning to pick up even more. Thankfully I cut back my work availability to just weekends.. so that will help! I had my first big Anatomy terms quiz this last week. Basically it's word prefixes, suffixes, and roots. Thankfully we were only quizzed over 100 of the terms, and not all of them. Needless to say, I was pretty much freaking out about it. I didn't get to study near as much as I wanted to, but I ended up getting a 47 out of 50, so I was really excited about that! I know that I had some serious divine help because I knew words that I didn't even remember studying! They would jump into my head really fast and I just decided to go with it.
This semester I am in the Mentor and Ambassador program and I absolutely love it! We basically get to look out for a group of new students and try to make sure they know what's going on and that we are there for them. It's basically like a leadership program and it is so fun. All together i think we have around 60 or so mentors maybe and we are all in our little groups. My group is absolutely fabulous and we have some great ideas and so much fun! Last week for the last part of our weekly meeting, we came to my house to spend some time calling people, then we played just dance on my Wii. Not to mention we all brought something to share and it was so much fun! We have now become known as the "Party Group", but it's just because we know how to have some fun! In our group we have a coordinator that reports to the head haunchos, then we have team leaders. So for our group it's basically like a President and his counselors. I got asked by our coordinator to be a leader and I have really enjoyed it. It is a little more responsibility, but it is fun.
This is most of my group! They are so fun to work with!
This last week I also got the chance to accompany a musical number for my friend. He and his friend Lexi were singing a duet for some program in Payson. They asked me on Sunday, and we performed on Friday. I was amazed that I was able to pull it off. Of course it wasn't perfect, but it was enough to get them through it. After doing this it made me realize how much I miss piano! I have lost so much ground and it takes me forever to learn things now it seems like.. Hopefully I can get back in to it soon because I really would like to get better. Here is as much of the performance as I got recorded. They are singing the Prayer by Josh Groban and they did fabulous! I wish all of it had gotten recorded, but I guess that's what happens when you give your camera to someone else right? ;] Ok well.. it won't upload. But it's on facebook!

Parker, Lexi, and I after they sang.
Well.. as for my thought of the day.. Last week I took a Psychology quiz that I basically came away from with my tail between my legs. I was pretty much clueless on it. But that kind of happens on most first quiz/tests.. right? Well I got it back today and some how.. I miraculously got a hundred on it! I texted my brother Jeff and told him this to which he replied i was smart. I said no.. I just BSed most of it honestly.. and he said "A sign of intelligence is the ability to be convincing, especially if you know you're full of it." Haha. So so true! As we would say in Improv, just let go and play! Just go with things. Even though I stared at my quiz for minutes trying to figure out how it added up, my friend finally leaned over and told me not to ask questions and just accept it before something changed. haha.
So overall.. Life is crazy. I was freakishly stressed out last week, but then i remembered I just need to take things one day at a time. I know I am surrounded by great people that love me and I am so thankful for the great friends and support that I have around me! This is going to be a crazy semester, but I'm sure i will learn things from it! My friend left a note on my car today and told me to just keep smiling.. so that's what I'm going to try to do.
